Image
We have a lot of great new things happening in the industry right now. One off which is probably the greatest piece of news to come out off Disney in forever. DISNEY IS BRINGING BACK 2D ANIMATION!!! I'm not making this up! You know, back when animation was made with paper and pencil instead of a model in the computer?  Seriously, Disney sucks so its nice there doing something right for a change. We found out this information from legendary Disney animator Eric Goldberg, who was the Supervising animator (supervising animator is the animator who is in charge of a certain character) off the Genie, Phil from Hercules, Luis from Princess and the Frog, Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh, and even Moai's tattoos in Moana. He also co directed Pocahontas and two sequences from Fantasia 2000. He also supervised the animation a different segment in Fantasia 2000. This is what he had to say.  I’ve been campaigning for a long time to train up people in han...

Blue Sky's last film Nimona, has been saved

Image
Exactly a year ago in this very month of April, Blue Sky was shut down by Disney. What went down with it was 400 employees and a movie with only 10 months left off production left called Nimona, a story set in medieval times about a villian and a shapeshifter named Nimona who try to stop there evil government. I thought this movie was never gonna see the light off day, but thanks to Netflix, THE MOVIE LIVES! That's right! This rarely ever happens in the industry, where a movie gets cancelled only to have it get picked up by a different studio to make it. The film will also be produced by Annapurna pictures, the same studio that brought you the animated movie that shocked the world, Sausage Party. There is one big question though, is Blue Sky going to be the studio to finish it. No. That will go to the animation studio DNEG, the studio that did the animation for Ron's Gone Wrong will finish up the remaining animation that Blue Sky didn't do yet. However, th...

Bjorn the Last Unicorn Review: Its kinda Amazing!

Image
So I just watched Bjorn the Last Unicorn and I'm just gonna say, its amazing. I loved it. Its charming, it cute, it has beautiful animation, it has awesome voice acting. Caleb Hyles who plays Bjorn kills it! Same thing with everyone else! Susan Egan, the living legend who was in my faviorite movie, Spirited Away, where she played Lin, and was Meg in Hercules. Then there's Chad who kinda looks like an older version off my friends little brother, is HYSTERICAL. All the characters are so fun! The animation is gorgeous ! With fluid movements and  gorgeous  colors, it rocks! The whole time I had a big smile on my face as I was watching it. I can't wait to see where Pencilish goes next and congrats to the crew that (I said this on my Instagram but what the heck I'm gonna say it again) some off which I've gotten the wonderful privilege  of getting to know. Don't mean to brag any more than I already am but I actually was talking to ...

The Toonsies

Image
After the Oscars, I started to think about how the Oscars really just don't care about animation. So I don't care about the Oscars or there decisions. I hate the Oscars. So I thought to make my own awards. The Toonsies, and here are the winners. Some are the same as the ones the Oscars chose and some are the ones I think was the best. I'm not putting in films I haven't seen yet.  Lets get into it.   2001: Shrek      Shrek is a one off a kind film in more ways then one. It pushed animation to bold new places with its jokes and how it mercilessly poking fun at Disney's tried and true formula. 2002: Spirited Away        Honestly, this film should've won Best Picture. This is the greatest movie ever made. It feels like your in a dream while watching it. 2003: Finding Nemo     An absolute classic that will endure for generations, Finding Nemo is a film that is beautiful in its simplicity. 2004: The Incredibles  ...
