Mind Over Murphy Episode 1 Review: Another Win For Pencilish!!!

Pencilish is on a role, first with the absolutely delightful Bjorn, and now the equally amazing Mind Over Murphy which tells the story of a man named Murphy and his Brain who's follows him around giving him terrible advice. One of the many things I love about the show is how it depicts are thought process in such a creative and hysterical way!! Like for example, Murphy's trying to decide what to do tonight so Brain makes it like a game show or Brain tells him memories like its a bedtime story. THE PEOPLE AT PENCILISH ARE GENIUSES!! Already they have these shows with such unique and original and creative premises!! THE PRODUCTION DESIGN IN THIS SHOW IS NEXT LEVEL GUYS!!! It reminds me of Maurice Noble, who did backgrounds for Looney Tunes, with its bold and beautiful color and simple shapes. The character designs also has that Noble sensibility with the colors and shapes. What I like about the character designs is that the characters are like purple or orange or blue. What I LOVE about Pencilish is that there shows have very unique character designs compared to other Cartoons out there that have that Cal Arts style with the bean mouth and head. Which is a great style, but its nice to see some diversity. Also the animation guys!! ONE PERSON ANIMATED THE WHOLE THING. ONE PERSON AND IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! I'm pretty sure this was animated using rigs which is when you have a character and you move them with like these rigs, which to me doesn't always look appealing and looks stiff, but Mind Over Murphy's animation is crisp, fluid, and sharp and uses the rigs to its advantage. I also LOVE the voice acting!! Brian Hull as Brain (heh heh, Brian/Brain) kills it and Max St. John who also created the show kills it as well and does an amazing job playing the straight man that goes off of the crazy characters cooky shenanigans. Mind Over Murphy is another delightful banger from Pencilish that is hysterical as it is creative and great to look at. I LOVE PENCILISH and they are going places!! I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us next.
