Top 10 Animated Disney Films

Ah Disney, love the movies, not so much the company at the moment. Disney's contribution to the medium is immense, so lets take a look at there ten best films.

10: Wreck it Ralph

I can't believe this lost the Best Animated Feature Oscar to Brave. Wreck it Ralph is a million times better then Brave. Wreck it Ralph is the most different Disney film ever and that's a good thing! A very good thing! One of the best things about this film is just how freaking hysterical it is. All the jokes are hilarious! The video game references are great and I love how some of the characters move like 8 bit, 80's video game characters. It has fantastic characters (King Candy being a great villian) and the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope is so sweet. The locations that are so cool and imaginative! The movie is also super emotional and has a powerful message about self acceptance and how you may have a bunch off people that don't like you, but just having one person that looks up to you makes you feel special and makes you feel like well, in the words of Ralph, "How Bad Can I Be".

9: Moana

Disney Animation's most recent films have been some of there best. After Frozen took the Disney formula and flipped it on its head (making Prince Charming the Villian, putting sisterly love over romantic love) Moana did it even better. Moana has parents, her animal sidekick is an ugly, idiotic rooster. Best off all, she has no love interest. But that's not the best part of the movie. This film is absolutely beautiful in its story, characters, songs, and animation! My goodness the animation! It is a super creative film with the living tattoos, the kakamora, and the underworld. Its oozing with creativity. Some of the best Disney has ever done! Its like a Hawaiian Miyazaki film.  Its gorgeous. You know what else is gorgeous? Moana! Dang! Talk about beautiful! Oh and Maui is one of the best Disney characters ever. Dwayne Johnson kills it!

8: Zootopia

Its amazing how Zootopia is able to tell a really real, adult, and heavy message abut Prejudice, Racism, Stereotypes, and Social Privilege's and yet still be appropriate for kids by having fun characters, a interesting story, and ridiculously funny moments. Seriously, I think this might have some of the funniest moments in any Disney movie. It finds this incredible balance that I still don't know how they did it, but they did and it was great. I love the world and how creative it is, I love the animation, I love the voice acting, Its all around a fantastic movie.

7: Fantasia

This film shows you what you can do with the power of animation! There's no talking, just the music and the heavenly visuals that sweep you away to an experience that is so beautiful, it feels like your dreaming. I think you have to be older to really appreciate this film. As a kid, I skipped to the part with Mickey in it. Now, I enjoy all of it. It is unlike any film experience ever.

6: The Emperors New Groove

An absolutely flawless film in every conceivable way, this is the FUNNIEST DISNEY FILM EVER.  Dang the jokes in this film are so clever, so sharp, so well written, and has incredible timing. I laughed so hard. The characters are so great, Izma is hilarious and is probably one of the best if not the best villian in the Disney catalogue. Kronk is the best villian sidekick. Its amazing how the main character, Kuzco is such a jerk but you still love him because of how funny he is. The voice acting is top notch which I think helps Kuzco's character. It is just one of the best.

5: The Hunchback of Notre Dame

4: Tangled

That smolder! Bolt and Princess and the Frog kind off brought Disney Animation back, but Tangled solidified it. Disney was not doing incredible at the box office and there films weren't as memorable (Chicken Little). After Tangled followed incredible films like Wreck it Ralph. Big Hero 6, Zootopia, and Moana. Tangled does everything a Disney movie does but somehow keeps it fresh. The animation is literally some of the best animation ever, the characters are ridiculously loveable with some off the best animal sidekicks, the songs are catchy, and its also so very funny! This is a BIG winner in my book.

3: Treasure Planet

I want people to see this film. Please GO WATCH IT. Its underrated and needs to be watched and become another Disney classic! The characters are extremely likable, complex and well developed, especially Jim Hawkins, Dr. Doppler, and the best character in the movie, John Silver being probably one off the best Disney villains EVER. He's more of an anti hero because he's shown as the father figure to Jim that Jim never had. Jim and John have such a great relationship that's at the heart of the movie. It really is very clever, taking the classic book Treasure Island, and setting it in space! That's just awesome. The animation is some of the best animation you'll ever see combining 2d and 3d with fluid movement and FANTASTIC character acting ESPECIALLY form John Silver and Dr. Doppler. Its all around just a AMAZING movie and one off the best ones Disney Animation has EVER made. GO WATCH IT. It is unlike anything you've seen before.

2: Lilo and Stitch

Wow, just wow. This movie is perfect in every sense of the word. The story is SO beautiful, sweet, heartwarming with SOO much heart and humor to it. The movie is also very funny with some FANTASTIC jokes. The animation is SOOO RIDICOUSLY GORGEUS and the animation is even more impressive when you realize the budget was pretty low. From the character animation to the BEAUTIFUL water color backgrounds to the adorable character designs, everything looks GORGEUS. The characters I think, elevate the story. They make the story and the characters in Lilo and Stitch are SO GOOD!!!!! There all very real and all very lovable and you feel for Lilo and Nani's predicament and Stitch's as well!!! Its insane to have a movie where the sister has to be the adopted parent, and having child services come to check on things. This is a KIDS movie but they handle it SOOO well!!! GOSH THIS MOVIE IS SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!

 1: Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Atlantis the Lost Empire takes my breath away. It really does. There are so many things in this movie that leave my jaw on the floor. Just like Treasure Planet, its unlike anything you've ever seen. First off all, its beautifully animated with some of the best 2d animation I've ever seen. There's such great character acting in this film. The character designs and production designs are something else!! With such a graphic look to it. Speaking of the characters, there ARE SO MANY LOVABLE CHARACTERS IN THIS FILM!!! This film has a great ensemble cast and most off them are awesome except Mole, he can be annoying but he has grown on me and now I really like him. He's especially funny when he's made fun off like the movie knows how annoying he is. The story is so interesting to! There's so much lore involved and its all SO interesting. I heard this was inspired by Castle in the Sky and it shows. With its really cool steampunk aesthetic and a magic crystal, I can totally see it. That's probably one reason why I love it so much. GO WATCH IT KNOW.

Wow, that was difficult! Tell me your faviorite Disney film in the comments.
