Cartoon Network Studios just launched a new short films program, there first short program in over a decade with there previous short film programs being What a Cartoon! and The Cartoon Cartoon Show. Its called Cartoon Cartoons and its goal is to tell innovative and diverse stories through the art of animation, find new voices, and to mentor and shepherd the next generation of animators. The content will range from short films for preschoolers, to shorts for adults. It will explore character driven and comedic stories to new and exciting experimental animation. They are including a lot of diversity in these films with Cartoon Network partnering with organizations such Black Woman Animation Studios which supports women of color, and Exceptional Minds which helps young adults on that are on the autism spectrum get jobs throughout the industry. The in house production team will be lead by three incredible animators.

- Manny Hernandez, supervising director on Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears and executive producer on We Baby Bears
- Katie Rice, series director on Hulu’s Animaniacs
- Aminder Dhaliwal, animator and creator of graphic novel Woman World
I am beyond excited about this!! The past short film programs that Cartoon Network had brought us some great shows like Powerpuff Girls, Steven Universe, Regular Show, and Adventure Time, which started out as shorts on there past short programs. Who knows what shows will come out of Cartoon Cartoons!
