Galaxy Gas: A canceled 2-D animated movie with Disney legends attached

For my first thingy, I want to talk about a movie called Galaxy Gas. And it starts with a guy named Craig Perk. Now Craig Perk back when he was in grad school in 2012 wanted to make an hand drawn animated movie. Sadly, hand drawn has become a lost art form. Anyway, He talked to a dude named
Tab Murphy who wrote the script for Tarzan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Atlantis the Lost Empire if he had any ideas for a 2-D animated movie, he had one that Craig loved.
They then showed the project to Kirk Wise, the Co-director of Beauty and the Beast who worked on Hunchback and Atlantis with Tab. He loved it to and he loved it to. He became the director and former Disney colleagues who left Disney after they shut down hand drawn joined the project to.
The animators worked from home and the crew would have a weekly sweatbox (which is when the crew pitches something to the director and the director will give suggestions and critiques, the name originated at Disney because the theater that they pitched stuff in had no air conditioner) at the
Burbank Public Library. Craig meanwhile took 9 months off of grad school to travel the U.S for possible investors They managed to get great actors who I don't know who they hired, they got John Williams who did the music for Star Wars to do the music, and I think but not certain that they may have gotten
Steven Spielberg who did E.T, Jaws, Jurassic Park, and the Indiana Jones movies (John Williams did the music for all of these movies) to be the producer. They also found a good finance and distributing company.
Things where looking great. But, the distributors didn't have the funds they said they had. So the project was cancelled. But (another but) during the pandemic, Craig Perk decided to show this never before "sizzle reel" which was shown to possible distributors and was never seen by the public until now. I tried showing my friends this saying don't watch the whole thing because there is a swear, but they didn't understand what was going on, so watch the whole thing.

In conclusion, I hope this movie will one day get released, I love the concept and it has so much potential and the animation looks slick and fluid. I think The Spa Studios (who made Klaus) should pick it up as there second movie. I'm just so impressed with the passion, the artistry, the hard work that was put in this movie, and who knows, maybe this movie will get released. Fingers crossed.
