What Makes a Pete Doctor Film?

Image
So far we have talked about some off the greatest filmmakers of all time like Hayao Miyazaki and Brad Bird. Today we are going to talk about another one who has been my hero for years, Pete Doctor. This Oscar winning Christian (that's right Christian and one off the reasons I look up to him so much is because he is a Christian like myself) animation director has made some off Pixar's greatest films such as Monsters Inc, Up, Inside Out, and Soul. He basically set the standard for Pixar filmmaking. He has recently stepped up as the new chief creative officer at Pixar and is taking the company in a fantastic new direction. Isn't it great that a Christian man is running a big Hollywood company? Lets take a look at what makes a Pete Doctor Film. Geometric Character Designs     His movies have such a simple style and I love it! Fantastical Worlds     Pete grew up loving Chronicles of Narnia and The Wizard of Oz. Just like those...

Incredibles Director Brad Bird's Next Film Ray Gunn is in the Works

I've talked about Brad Bird ALOT on this blog. I mean, you can't really talk about animation without talking about Brad Bird. I mean, he's the greatest filmmakers working today and is one of the greatest filmmakers off all time. He has made some of my fav films, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, and Ratatouille are some off my faviorite films. He has even dipped his toes into live action a few times with films like Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol.  So when I heard that Brad Bird was making another animated film, I just had to talk about it. The film is called Ray Gunn which I've heard about before in documentaries and stuff. He has been trying to make this film for 30 years and now it is finally happening at Skydance Animation where he's teaming up again with John Lasseter. John Lasseter is another one off my heroes. He is the co founder of Pixar and his movie Toy Story, got me into animation, filmmaking, and just the arts in general. After resigning from...

Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers Trailer

Image
I was skeptical about posting this because not that many off you know about the show Chip and Dale had in the 90's called Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. I also thought you would think it be weird and just wouldn't care. But I love it because it is a love letter to animation and it just looks SOOO fun! Take a look!     I love how they make fun of the 2d Cg switch. I just think that is so funny. I also love how one off them is 2d looking and the other is Cg. I LOVE THAT! Its also nice that they poke fun at the mocap animated movies from the 2000's like the The Polar Express. And there's Roger Rabbit. Not like you guys know who that is but whatever. This movie is one big love letter to animation and it feels like a movie made for me. Tell me what you think in the comments down below and make sure you check out the Lightyear trailer. Thanks for taking another ride on the Animation Station.
