Soul Review: One of Pixar's BEST FILMS, One of my FAVIORITE FILMS!!!

 

    

    So I saw Soul the day after it came out on Disney plus and to no surprise, this movie is a masterpiece in ever sense of the word! 

    The animation is some of Pixar's best! From the simplistic beauty of New York to the Great Before/U Seminar where there are 2-d lines around the characters! So great! Then there is the beautiful music. from the jazzy jazz music of New York, to the ethereal, otherworldly music of the Great Before/U Seminar.  As you can guess, there's lots of great contrast between the two worlds. They also do a great job of representing black culture that is so authentic and feels so real!      

    The concept is very Pixar, what if there was a place where souls prepare for earth, like a before life instead of an after life. And how they use jazz as a metaphor is fantastic. Jazz is an improvisational form of music, you never know where the music will take you. Just like life!  Joe is a main character that I really related to. The lesson that he learns really really spoke to me and one of the things in the movie that moved me to tears. Like guys I was BAWLING! I mean that's expected this is a Pixar movie after all. I love 22 as well. She is a great contrast to Joe who wants to live and she doesn't. She doesn't want to go to earth because she feels like she's not good enough. Sometimes I feel like I'm not good enough This movie gets pretty existential! Like it talks about things like what is the meaning of life or what is my purpose on earth. And it does this in a way where it doesn't point to one religion! And also there is this complaint where black characters in animated movies get turned into pigeons and frogs, though Joe does go out of his body, but they actually do it half and half and they actually do something in the movie that actually fixes this issue that people have, in such a clever way!  

    Soul is one one of Pixar's best films, its also is one of there most bold films. Pixar does stuff that other animation studios wouldn't dream of  doing and Soul is a prime example! There isn't a single thing wrong with this film in my eyes. I came out of this movie a different person. There are only a few movies that can do that. Soul is a beautiful, funny, deep, and tear jerking film that will go down in history as not only one of Pixar's best films, but also as one of the best films in my opinion. That's one of the many joys of life, having opinions. Watch this film and see what I'm talking about and maybe just maybe, you'll walk out a different person.

    Looney Tunes Back in Action is outstanding! It is  very underrated! It is a lot like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Mary Poppins where it combines 2d hand drawn animation and live action. The movie combines everything I love about Looney Tunes and more with monsters, spy's, Steve Martin, Westerns, Adventure films, and everything else I love. Avatar Show Confirmed for 2025!!!! (and other updates)

                We now have are second Avatar Studios project announcement!!! After the very exciting announcement of the young adult team Avatar movie which is now confirmed for a October 10th 2025, we now have gotten an announcement for Avatars next show!!! The show will be about the next Avatar after Korra, who is an Earth avatar!!! The show will take place 100 years after Korra and will take place in modern day!!! Can you imagine an Avatar show, that takes place in modern day!?!?! With like newer looking cars and technology mixed with the classic Asian architecture and look that the series is known for!?!?! That's AMAZING!!! Avatar Studios will also  apparently release a show on paramount plus and a movie every year!?!?! That's INSANE!!!! Lets just hope they don't run out of steam. Animated Films with stylized animation (and how they did it)

 I got a ton of reviews for movies and shows that I wanna do but I feel like I've been doing a lot of reviews lately, so I'm gonna do this instead. It gives me a little else to talk about. Today I'm gonna talk about movies with animation that looks like nothing we've seen before and how they did it. I also put videos so you can see the process. Spider-Man into the Spiderverse Spider-Man into the Spiderverse is a groundbreaking film in many ways. But one reason is because of its incredible animation! How they made the computer animation look like a comic book is amazing! How they did it is they put a lot of 2-D lines on the characters face. Look closely on Miles' face, see how the wrinkles on his forehead look hand drawn. They also animated most of the movie on twos, which means that they are 12 frames of animation in one second instead of the 24 frames of animation in one second which is used in most animated films.
